We entered HMC on a clear, blank slate,
Possibly with an unstable mental state.
Decisions may be questioned till this date,
But nevertheless, we perceive it as fate.
With all the risks that we take,
There are paths leading into the unknown.
One is vague,
And one is shown.
When the path ahead is vague,
Many things are for sure at stake.
But if it’s a risk you’re willing to take,
It’s hard to deem it as a pure mistake.
There’s nothing wrong in playing it safe,
For if you choose the path that is shown.
But would you be truly be happy in that case?
To look back and be proud of how you’ve grown.
Whatever the path that lies ahead,
We can all agree that online classes are just dead.
Whether you’re actually “learning” or in bed,
We can never listen to what the lecturers said.
Funny how people used to recognise actual faces,
And now we recognise “icon-ic” faces.
Oh, you’re the one with the Elsa icon?
And you must be the one with the cute cat icon!
Is it just me?
Or do people tremble when they unmute?
Wait, is the teacher calling for me?
Boom, mind goes blank and mental system reboots.
While the room is filled with distractions,
There is always room for procrastination.
It really is hard to find that motivation,
As we wander deep into our imagination.
Current life in HMC may not be the best situation,
But whether to brood over it, is your decision.
Whatever that directs us to our destination,
Trying to stay alive is our utmost mission.
Yes, we did miss out on making new friends,
And we will soon further into our respective degrees.
But that does not mark an end,
For we were once, and always will, be a student of HMC.
