On the 13th of October, the Alumni Team organized a Virtual Inspirational Talk. Mr David Ng, an alumni student, was invited to provide his insights into HMC and share his journey from Foundation in Arts to Australia. Mr David graduated from HMC back in 2012. At the University of Melbourne, Mr David majored in Accounting and Finance. He is currently working as a tax accountant in Kennedy Tax and Business Services in Melbourne.

During the talk, Mr David shared the struggles he faced during his foundation year. At the age of 18, he was also unsure of “what’s next”. However, Mr David was grateful that HMC had provided him with the opportunity to take on electives. As a result, he was able to determine what field of study suits his interest and capabilities. Moreover, Mr David shared his experience on the transferring process to Australia and the lifestyle in Australia. Mr David also shared some advice such as, finding our community, having a growth mindset, and tips on staying motivated. He also introduced us to a new concept called “virtual courage”, in which he talks about our comfortability online, especially when we are attending lectures virtually.
